Why is natural mascara so good for eyelashes?

Natural mascara can have lots of benefits for your eyelashes and is a great choice for keeping lashes healthy and conditioned.

In this post we take an in-depth look at the ingredients used to make our natural mascaras and explain why they are so good for nurturing long, fluttery lashes.

What’s in natural mascara?

Mascaras were originally made from a combination of coal dust and petroleum jelly but modern mascaras have moved on somewhat!

Green People uses ingredients such as Sunflower Oil, Beeswax and Carnauba Wax to create natural mascaras that are water repellent, nourishing and remarkably effective at lifting lashes.

Their pigment comes from earth mineral pigments which cover the lashes in a long-lasting coat of colour that makes them look instantly longer and more defined.

We use biodegradable, plant-derived cellulose microspheres which give our natural mascaras outstanding volume.

5 benefits of natural mascara

There are many benefits of choosing a mascara made with natural ingredients. These include:

Our natural mascara ingredients have a low allergen profile and are well suited to those prone to sensitive eyes. They are also suitable for contact lens wearers.

Need an ethyl alcohol-free mascara? Our gentle mascaras are free from ethanol/ethyl alcohol.

If your eyelashes are prone to feeling dry and brittle or fall out regularly, switching to a natural mascara that’s made with Vitamin E could help to restore their strength and encourage healthy lash growth.

Adding Beeswax to our long-lasting mascaras makes them naturally water repellence and less likely to smudge. Better still, this makes our mineral mascara ultra quick and easy to remove at night.

Our mascara formulations not only nourish and protect the lashes but our advanced microsphere technology also plumps them out so that they look thicker and fuller immediately after application.

For extra-long lash lengths, apply your mascara from root to tip using a zigzag motion or add an extra coat to build-up the pigment and add a touch of glamour to your mineral make-up look.

It’s also a good idea to review the products that you are using to remove your mascara.

For a gentle, natural eye make-up remover we suggest our Gentle Cleanse & Make-Up Remover which gently removes make-up without irritating delicate skin and lashes. Discover a 10ml ‘try me’ tube in the Lash & Lift Gift set which also features a full-size Volumising Mascara.
