You’re not alone. A 2023 survey by The British Menopause Foundation revealed that a staggering 70% of women have experienced menopausal night sweats[i], a menopause symptom caused by hormonal changes.

These hormone shifts lead to an increase in sweating and can alter body odour and knock your confidence.

3 tips for managing menopause odour

To help women of menopausal age keep cool and comfortable, we asked our experts to share their top tips for managing night sweats and menopause odour.

1: Breathable layers are best

Hot flushes and night sweats call for light bed linen and nightwear. To help your underarms breathe, choose breathable bed fabrics like organic cotton and linen. 

2: Keep your cool

Keeping the window ajar or leaving a fan on is a great way to keep air flowing in your bedroom, leading to a more comfortable night's sleep. You may also find it helpful to use a cooling menopause mattress mat or to keep a cooling glass of water and a cooling facial mist by your bedside.

3: Balance your microbiome

Did you know that sweat is odourless? B.O. isn't released by sweat but by bacteria that love to breed in the cosy crevices of underarms.
