Welcome to Green People’s UK home!

In this post, we’ll guide you through our eco headquarters and explain how you can support UK rewilding through your Green People shopping.

Our eco office

Listen carefully when you next call our customer care team and instead of a printer whirring, you may hear our neighbours mooing, tweeting and honking in the background. This is because we rent our HQ office space from The Knepp Castle Estate.

Knepp Castle Estate

As tenants on the land, a portion of the money Green People pays in rent goes directly to supporting these animals through an amazing rewilding initiative called The Knepp Wildland Project.

This crucial conservation programme has created an abundance of critically important habitats and has turned the Knepp Estate into a sanctuary for endangered species.

Today, the estate is home to red and fallow deer which live alongside the native roe deer. The rest of the neighbourhood consists of Exmoor ponies, Old English Longhorn cattle and Tamworth pigs which were introduced to replace the ancient aurochs, elk and wild boar that roamed the landscape thousands of years ago.

These animals all roam freely around the estate and a lunchtime stroll around the lake typically results in sightings of enough wildlife to fill an entire David Attenborough documentary. We frequently see deer, storks and Canadian Geese as well as the reptilian residents – grass snakes and slow worms.

Each of these species has an important role in helping to create a diverse mosaic of habitats – the grazing of large herbivores is key to creating a biodiverse, self-sustaining ecosystem.

The Knepp Wildland Foundation

Did you know that you can support nature’s recovery through your next skin care shop?

The Knepp Wildland Foundation is one of our newest charity partners and was set up with the aim of using the learnings from The Knepp Wildland Project to support nature recovery projects at scale, across the UK.

By choosing to support the Knepp Wildland Foundation via our Green Beauty Club, your donation will help to catalyse nature recovery across Sussex and nurture the next generation of rewilders.

Donations made to the Knepp Wildland Foundation will also support their flagship project, Weald to Waves, an ambitious and nationally significant project that aims to create a 100-mile nature recovery corridor across Sussex, stretching from the High Weald to the Sussex coast.

To support the Knepp Wildland Foundation, log in to your Green People account and convert your next Green Beauty Club reward into a £5 charity donation.
