Palm Oil benefits for skin
Palm Oil is a fantastic natural ingredient that has some great benefits for skin, with moisturising and skin-protecting properties.
It is also naturally high in powerful antioxidants that are around 50 times stronger than Vitamin E. These antioxidants are extremely effective in sun lotions, balms and moisturisers as they fight free radicals that damage the skin and cause wrinkles.
But Palm Oil has its controversies, and the sad truth is that the demand for palm oil has contributed to deforestation in areas such as Indonesia.
We only use ethically sourced Palm Oil
As a pioneering organic beauty brand, we have a strict policy on only using sustainably sourced organic Palm Oil.
The Palm Oil used in Green People products is from certified organic sources in either the Philippines or Ecuador—neither of which has ever had Orang-utans living there.
It comes from trees grown on long-established plantations that are managed sustainably to ensure that native fauna and flora are preserved.
How can you be sure?
Well, we’re certified organic, and it’s a condition of achieving organic certification that crop growth and production do not adversely affect the environment locally or globally.
Agricultural schemes that involve deforestation are specifically excluded from all organic certification schemes.
Did you know? The Soil Association COSMOS standard specifically stipulates that all palm oil and palm derivatives must be certified organic or from sustainable sources, and states:
