Does your skin care routine have a holiday mode? When we travel, we tend to make small changes to our everyday routine, such as increasing use of SPF or streamlining our product selections.

These small, sudden changes can make big difference to your skin, as can switching to a holiday climate and a holiday lifestyle.

It is normal to find your skin feeling dry or itchy after a holiday and in this post, we’ll help you to choose the best beauty and wellbeing products to help you treat post-holiday skin.

Our natural beauty products are packed with natural goodness from organically grown, sustainably sourced plants to balance, protect and restore your skin.

Best skin care for dry skin after holiday

Ever retuned from holiday and wondered ‘why is my skin so dry’? Air con, heat and chlorine can all play havoc with our skin, leaving it feeling drier than usual. The good news is that, with a little TLC, this is easily solved.

To hydrate dry skin after a holiday, layer your serum and day cream. Apply a light serum first to replenish hydration deep within the skin. Once your serum has been absorbed, apply your hydrating day cream.

Our clean, conscious Nordic Roots range offers the ideal pair of products to rehydrate dry skin after your holiday.

First, apply Nordic Roots Hyaluronic Booster Serum, which is a fast-absorbing serum that instantly hydrates and renews the skin.

Immediately afterwards, follow with a small amount of Nordic Roots Apple Complex Moisturiser to restore, protect and balance your skin. This deeply hydrating cream is made using moisture-retaining Sugar Beet and thirst-quenching Apple Cellular Water.

Top tip: Help your skin care to sink into to dry skin after your holiday by exfoliating 1-2 times a week.

Best post-holiday foot cream

If you’ve spent your holiday walking around the sights in sweaty trainers or heel-hardening sandals, we have a great treat for tired toes.

Our Deodorising Prebiotic Foot Cream blends cooling Mint and Eucalyptus essential oils with Shea Butter and Sunflower Oil to soothe and soften dry heels.

Better yet, it features odour-fighting actives including Prebiotics which rebalance the skin to leave post-holiday feet feeling much fresher.

Best skin care for peeling after holiday

It is easy to get caught out by holiday sun and if your skin is like to be peeling after sunburn, an after sun lotion with Aloe Vera should be an essential post of your post-holiday skin care routine.

Intensely hydrating, this cooling, nutrient-rich active helps soothe and repair sun-damaged skin. It is also rich in antioxidants which can help to neutralise free radical activity that occurs during sun exposure.

Green People Hydrating After Sun contains an exceptionally high concentration of Aloe Vera. Apply as and when needed to cool the skin and replenish any lost skin hydration.

If you have severe sunburn or any complications, always seek medical help.

Best way to prolong holiday tan

Our Hydrating After Sun does so much more than just soothe sun-exposed skin. It will also help to reduce your risk of peeling and help you to hold on to your holiday tan for longer.

If you’ve come home from holiday with a sun-kissed glow that you want to prolong, massage Hydrating After Sun into the skin after showering. For an extra hit of skin hydration, apply it whilst the skin is slightly damp, this will sandwich moisture into the skin so that it has a healthy, hydrated glow.

Another way to prolong your holiday tan is to use a self-tanning lotion or tan drops. Liquid Gold Tanning Drops can be mixed with any moisturiser or body lotion and will help you to maintain sun-kissed skin long after your holiday has ended.

Best post-holiday hair care

Chlorine and UV exposure can both leave hair a little straw like, and your post-holiday hair care routine must be intensely hydrating.

We suggest Protein-Boost Shampoo and Conditioner which cleanse and melt away tangles as they deeply condition each hair strand.

An additional benefit of this post-holiday shampoo and conditioner is that it features Artichoke, an active known for its natural ability to smooth the hair’s surface and shield against damage caused by exposure to UV radiation.

Apply to the ends of damp hair and then rinse out thoroughly. To use as a hair mask, apply to damp hair and then wrap the hair in a warm towel for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, rinse, comb and dry the hair.

If frizz persists, smooth it with Protein-Boost Hair Serum, a silken serum enriched with strengthening Quinoa Protein and Avocado Oil to condition and reverse hair damage.

Best jet-lag helper

Feeling tired after your travel? Help to reset your sleep patterns with Time to Sleep Essential Oil Blend.

A pure, natural oil to support better bedtimes, this sleep-inducing scent features Lavender, Frankincense and Bergamot and can be added to a diffuser or used as pillow drops.

If you experience the post-holiday blues, you might like to support your wellbeing with Me Time Scents. This trio of mindful scents can help your mood as you go through the day, featuring Time to Smile, Time to Relax and Time to Sleep.
