There are lots of natural ingredients in the home that you can use to make your own natural skin care products and here you’ll find some handy homemade skin care and face mask recipes.

For skin that need a little extra support, our long-lasting natural face masks are a wonderful way of encouraging a bright, radiant and blemish-free complexion.

Nourishing banana mask

A homemade skin care treat to gently detoxify, rehydrate and leave skin glowing.

Bananas are a good source of potassium, vitamins A, B6 and C and are great for softening and hydrating the skin. This natural face mask won't last long so make it fresh whenever you want to give your skin a boost.

  • Mash one small organic banana
  • Mix with 1 teaspoon of Hemp oil and 1 teaspoon of Manuka honey
  • Smooth the mixture onto your skin and leave for 10 minutes before gently rinsing off with warm water

Repairing avocado mask with Manuka honey

Avocado is rich in so many nutrients including vitamins A, D and E, beta-carotene, potassium (the 'youth mineral'), proteins, lecithin and essential fatty acids.

It also contains plant steroids called sterolins which help to soften and moisturise the skin, reduce age spots and heal sun damage and scars.

Another great thing about Avocado is that it has emollient properties and assists in the regeneration and rejuvenation of the skin.

This makes it ideal for mature skin, as well as eczema and psoriasis-prone skin, and skin that’s easily dehydrated or has experienced sun damage.

For normal skin types:

  • Mash the flesh of half a medium-sized organic avocado into a creamy texture
  • Apply the mixture to your skin on same day you make and leave on the face and neck for 15-20 minutes
  • Gently rinse off with warm water then, if you wish, dab your skin with cool Green Tea

For oily skin types:

  • Combine the mashed flesh of half a medium-sized organic avocado with 1 tablespoon of Manuka honey
  • Massage the mask mixture into the face and neck and leave on for 15-20 minutes
  • Gently rinse off with warm water then, if you wish, dab your skin with cool Green Tea

For dry and mature skin types:

  • Combine the mashed flesh of half a medium-sized organic avocado with 1 tablespoon of Manuka honey and 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed organic Lemon juice
  • Massage the mask mixture into the face and neck and leave on the skin for 15-20 minutes
  • Gently rinse off with warm water then, if you wish, dab your skin with cool Green Tea

Overnight face mask

Cleansing T-zone mask

This homemade face mask contains natural ingredients that are ideal for combination or oily skin as well as skin that is prone to breakouts around the T-zone area.

  • Mix 2 tablespoons of rosewater with 1 tablespoon of natural yoghurt and 1 tablespoon of Manuka honey
  • If you wish you can add an essential oil
  • Apply to the T-zone, leave for 8-10 minutes and then rinse off

  • Stir 1-2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar into 20ml of water and add up to 5 drops of an essential oil blend that suits your skin type.Apple cider vinegar is particularly effective when used with Lavender, Rose or Rosemary essential oils
  • Apply to your face after cleansing
  • Keep refrigerated and use within four weeks
